AP Biology Policy
If your AP Biology exam score was a 3 you should start with the first course in one of the introductory biology sequences. Consult with your Biology Major faculty advisor for the appropriate sequence. These credits will not count toward the 31 credits required in Biology.
If your AP Biology exam score was a 4 or 5 you have several options to select from. These credits will count toward the 31 credits required in Biology.
- You may take any of the introductory biology sequences and your AP Biology credits will count as electives for graduation.
- You may register for Biology/Botany/Zoology 152. If you complete it with a grade of C or better, you can request an exception from your Biology Major advisor to count your AP credit for Biology/Botany/Zoology 151.
- You may use your AP Biology credits for Biology/Zoology 101-102. When you complete Biology/Botany 130, your AP credit will appear on your DARS as satisfying Biology/Zoology 101-102.
- Biocore is an accelerated course sequence and it is not possible to equate AP Biology credit with any particular course. Therefore, if you take Biocore your AP Biology credits can only count as elective credits for graduation.
